Every child is taught very early in life the importance of 'sharing',let be a piece of candy or toy.Computing, has started with people sharing the knowledge, computing hardware and software.It was rule of day to share nice programs and modifying to suit your needs.

Unfortunately,software now has become asset of the few,sharing software is illegal.As a child grows up the idea of 'sharing' is replaced with strong urge to posses,We often fail to understand the value of life can not measured in terms of money.Free Software movement propounds the idea of sharing.


"Free" in Free Software means freedom, not price.

Richard M Stallman,the founder of Free Software Foundation (FSF) recently spoke about "Free Software" at the National Institute of Technology, Trichy on Feb 17, 2004.
